The two holiday apartments are at 1500m, in the middle of a skiing and hiking area. There is NO supermarket or local supplier on the Kanzelhöhe, there is only an evening restaurant (Waldschenke Edelweiss - irregular opening times). Lunch is possible in one of the many huts on the mountain (close by - 800m - the restaurant of the Kanzelbahn mountain station); NO meals possible in the evening; at least as long as the neighboring hotel with its restaurant is not yet open (opening date December 2022)!
The nearest supermarket is in Treffen, di. 9 km via the toll road in the valley!
By car
Tauern autobahn (A10) Exit 179 "Villach/Ossiachersee" in the direction of Ossiachersee/Treffen/Annenheim. On the B94 "Ossiacherstrasse" to the roundabout (on the right Hofer/Lidl); 3rd exit onto the B98 "Millstätterstrasse" in the direction of "Treffen/Radenthein/Döbrich/Millstättersee". Stay on the B98, at the end of the town Treffen turn right into "Gerlitzenstrasse" (toll road/Kanzelhöhe/Gerlitzen). After 2000 meters toll barrier "Alpenstrasse Gerlitzen". Take a ticket (unlimited long-term ticket in the apartment!), continue 9 km to "Kanzelhöhe". After the yellow house (right) turn RIGHT (left Kanzelbahn mountain station) and continue 1000 meters to the hotel complex (left). There turn LEFT to the apartment complex RIGHT.

By train
With the ÖBB to Villach main station. Change to S-Bahn "S2" (Villach-Feldkirchen), hourly departures to Annenheim (journey time 10 minutes). In Annenheim change to the "Kanzelbahn" (4-person gondola) to "Kanzelhöhe" (journey time approx. 7 minutes). Kanzelhöhe footpath approx. 800 meters (to the south next to the gondola lift in the direction of "Almresort"!) to the apartment house
By bus
Bus company Dr. Richard, Line 50 between Villach and Sattendorf. Stop "Annenheim valley station Kanzelbahn". Change to the "Kanzelbahn" (6-person gondola) to the Kanzelhöhe. Next footpath (to the south next to the gondola lift in the direction of "Almresort"!) approx. 800 meters to the apartment building
Kanzelhöhe Gerlitzen
The Kanzelhöhe is a 1524 m above sea level. A. high pre-summit of the Gerlitzen north of Lake Ossiach (10 km2), ten kilometers north-east of Villach (61,000 inhabitants) in the border triangle (AT/SI/IT) in the federal state of Carinthia. The sub-summit stands steeply above the lake and probably has its name because of the impressive view.
Until the 1980s, the "old pulpit" was the former mountain station of the Kanzelbahn, a cable car that brought holidaymakers from Annenheim am Ossiachersee to their summer resorts or to go skiing. In the meantime, the old cable car has been replaced by a modern monocable cable car (4-seater gondola); the mountain station was relocated from the "old pulpit" about 1,000 meters up the mountain to the "Kanzelhöhe". Between the Kanzelhöhe and the summit (difference 400 meters in altitude), there are currently 13 lifts (new lifts currently under construction!) with 63 kilometers of slopes for skiing; in summer, the "Gipfelbahn" (6-seater chairlift) takes vacationers up to 1,900 meters.
In the Kanzelhöhe area there are a few private houses that are mainly used for rental purposes. The apartment complex in which our two suites are located emerged from the former Swiss HAPIMAG holiday complex, which was filleted by investors and divided into a hotel (opening in December 2022) and 59 private apartments.
